How do I access a course on Blackboard?

If you are an undergraduate (laurea triennale), graduate (laurea magistrale) or single-cycle degree student at the Milan, Brescia or Piacenza-Cremona campuses or if you are enrolled with the School of Economics at the Rome campus, click on the “Courses” tab, select the year of your programme, or  go to “Searched courses”. Click on  “Bb  Enter” which appears to the right of the course title. 

Click on “Select” against the professor/instructor and academic year of the course you are interested in

If you have previously selected Blackboard courses, you can also access these from “Bb Courses”, clicking on “Go to”

If you are in the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the Rome campus, you will find your courses under COURSES, in the sub-section entitled “your course selection for Rome” and under the label OTHER BLACKBOARD COURSES.

If I can’t find the course I am looking for under “COURSES”, what can I do?

Use “SEARCH COURSES” on the right of the page.

The SEARCH COURSES function is pre-set for your faculty at your campus. Put in the course title or the name of the professor/instructor and click on “SEARCH”.

Select the course and confirm selection by clicking on “Yes, add course”.

The course title and course information will appear in the “SEARCHED COURSES” section.

When I go into a course I can’t see the materials. Why is that?

Professors/instructors normally upload course documents in the “MATERIALS” section. If you only see notices, information and ‘staff area’ you have most likely entered the course area as a guest i.e. not as a registered student.

To see all the materials, select the course and follow the instructions under the FAQ “How do I access Blackboard?”

How can I see my grades?

To see grades of tests taken on Blackboard or for other activities set by professors/instructors on Blackboard, access the Blackboard course and click on “GRADES”.

I am still registered for a Blackboard course for the previous academic year. Can I register for the same course this year too? (Not applicable to Medicine and Surgery students in Rome.)

If you click on “Bb Go to” and you see both academic years as possible selections against the course then you can select both.

I have registered for a Blackboard course. Can I unregister? (Not applicable to Medicine and Surgery students in Rome.)

Yes. Go to “Bb Courses” and click on “REMOVE” against the course that you don’t want to be registered for.

I registered for a Blackboard course but I don’t see it in the “Bb COURSES” section. Why is that? (Not applicable to Medicine and Surgery students in Rome.)

Blackboard courses remain listed for a further academic year e.g. 2015-2016 courses are available until June 2017, after which time they will be no longer available. Professors/instructors may also decide to close access to their Blackboard courses. You should access/download materials before they become no longer available.
